The Lux is the unit used to measure the camera's ability to record images in the dark. The lower the Lux number is the better night recording, will it offer. In case, the camera has to be installed somewhere with virtually zero lighting, then you should go for an infrared outdoor security camera.

Wired/Wireless

There are both hard wired and wireless outdoor security cameras. Both types have their pros and cons. A hard wired system is definitely more reliable and is much longer lasting.
